Caney Fork Restaurant in Columbus, MS. Grand Opening February 8, 2010. Caney Fork takes its name from the famous Caney Fork River, which winds through middle Tennessee just east of Nashville. The crystal clear waters of the Caney Fork is home to some of the best trout fishing in the South, canoeing, kayaking, camping, hunting and many other door activities. The beautiful waters of the Caney Fork eventually find their way in some form or fashion to all of the southern states below Tennessee. Just as the waters flow....we too have plans to open locations in many of these states. The very first Caney Fork Restaurant is located at the front gates of the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and has garnered much acclaim as Nashville's most authentic causal Southern food experience. The best quality food, perfectly prepared by our chefs, with some of the best southern hospitality you will ever experience....that is our promise to you. All of our food is prepared fresh daily... Start with our delicious Lump Blue Crab Cakes, Fried Dill Pickles, or Fried Green Beans....then move to some of the most Authentic Southern Style dishes you will ever taste. Choose from our perfectly Aged Steaks, the best Mississippi Catfish you will find, Grade-A Salmon or our Baby Back Ribs that are slow cooked and served with some of the tastiest barbeque sauce in the South. While our food is great, the ambience is even better. We scoured the south locating interesting artifacts for the restaurant that make each Caney Fork location unique to the city it is located in. The Nashville location for example has a 3100 gallon stocked pond and waterfall. More than a dozen huge catfish call this pond home with one special resident, a rare albino catfish fondly know as Snowball....You can pet him when you get there. Upon your visit you will also see a beautifully restored 1939 Dodge truck cab, many record trophy game mounts, a couple of bears, vintage lures, and more than 200 photographs and primitive antiques. Caney Fork is a fun place to visit. It is a place where guests are welcome to walk around while they wait for their dinner to be served.
